David Silvers
Mr. Silvers joined USRA in 1994 and is responsible for acquisitions and corporate advisory assignments. Mr. Silvers’ career has focused on applying leading-edge creative thinking in financial, legal and accounting areas to help companies use their real estate to achieve their corporate objectives. Among the ground-breaking net lease transactions that he structured were the first foreign currency-based sale-leaseback of U.S. real estate, the first UDAG-linked sale-leaseback and the first build-to-suit leveraged lease.
Prior to joining USRA, Mr. Silvers was a Managing Director of Bankers Trust Company with responsibility for structured real estate transactions, particularly those involving corporate and international real estate. From 1979 to 1987, Mr. Silvers was employed by Integrated Resources, Inc., where he was responsible for the structuring and acquisition of over $2 billion of corporate net leased real estate.
Mr. Silvers began his career with the New York law firm Proskauer Rose LLP, practicing tax and corporate law.
Mr. Silvers has been an officer and board member of a number of not-for-profit organizations. He has participated as lecturer and guest speaker for a number of organizations, including the New York Securities Analysts, Institutional Investors Consulting and the Practicing Law Institute, and he has authored numerous trade journal and law review articles on real estate issues.
Mr. Silvers is a graduate of Harvard Law School (JD, cum laude, 1974) and the University of Pennsylvania (BA, magna cum laude, 1971).
